Orchard Film Club – In the Heat of the Night (12)
A black Philadelphia police detective is mistakenly suspected of a local murder while passing through a racially hostile Mississippi town and after being cleared, is reluctantly asked by the police chief to investigate the case. Starring Sidney Poitier, Rod Steiger and Warren Oates.
In the Heat of the Night is widely considered one of the most important American films of the 1960s. At the 40th Academy Awards held in April 1968, the film was nominated for seven Oscars, winning five, including Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Actor for Rod Steiger. Quincy Jones’ score, featuring a title song performed by Ray Charles, was nominated for a Grammy Award.

Tickets are £6 per adult (£3 for under-17s) and will be available from mid-August from Bob’s Butchers.
Tickets will also be available on the door.
We are able to take contactless payments for tickets and bar sales on the night!
Doors and bar will open at 7pm, film will start at 7.30pm.
