Didcot Phoenix Drama Group present The Little Mermaid
Didcot Phoenix Drama Group is excited to bring you on an adventure with their family pantomime, The Little Mermaid!
With a script written by Devon Tyrrell, the drama group will take on a new adaptation of a much- loved fairy tale.
Our tale will be familiar to devotees of Hans Christian Andersen’s tale of the mermaid who swapped her voice for legs so that she can marry the prince of her dreams she has saved from drowning while on her visit to the land.
In our version, the mermaid is called Oceana. She has 24 hours to convince Prince Hans to marry her before she turns into sea foam, all without her voice that she has bargained with the evil Sea Witch, Pearl.
Will Oceana get to Prince Hans before Pearl does? Will Queen Iva ever convince Prince Hans to get married? Will Oceana’s friends and family be able to help her get her voice back?
Why is everyone just eating fish?
So, dive in and join Oceana to discover what can happen when you give up your voice, for the chance to walk on land!
We will be at Harwell Village Hall on Sunday 25th of January 2026 at 3:30pm.
Tickets are £12pp for adult, £10pp for children and concessions, and £38 for the family bundle!
