Academy Award winners George Clooney and Julia Roberts reunite on the big screen as David and Georgia Cotton, divorced parents who can’t stand each other.  Their daughter Lily has recently graduated from law school, and while on vacation in Bali with her friend Wren, gets stranded while snorkeling off the coast.

Rescued by young Balinese seaweed farmer Gede, Lily falls in love and 37 days later, emails her parents to let them know that she and Gede are getting married and that she is staying in Bali permanently, giving up her legal career before it begins.  David and Georgia decide to hold a truce and work together to try and convince Lily that she is rushing into things, to stop her making the same terrible mistake that they had made years earlier.
